Leadership

Provide leadership in the ‘engaging’ of both internal and external partners and the use of effective negotiations to achieve a win-win scenario for all partners involved; facilitating cross-functional integration; developing and leading virtual teams, which drives proposal strategy, corporate implementation plans and agreements; coordinating, developing and leading efforts to secure resources necessary to implement offer strategies, programs and/or projects; and coordinating the activities of internal departments in support of field sales.

 

Work closely with senior management to include, but not limited to; product development, engineering, customer provisioning, contracts, DoD/DND specifications, tariffs, regulatory, taxation, economics, implementation and lifecycle management.  

 

Business Development/Strategic Development

Develop solution in alignment with stated corporate objectives with defined market space. Strategies may include: partnership, merger and acquisition, merger only, acquisition only, equity based joint venture, consortium, technology, regulatory, and/or pricing.   

 

Competitive Positioning/ Competitive Analysis 

  • Industry and competitor analysis to formulate the business offer strategy.
  • Synthesize internal/external business intelligence to identify strategic threats and opportunities.
  • Develop financial models and business cases to evaluate strategic opportunities such as international joint ventures, alliances – and new product and business opportunities. 

Marketing

Align with marketing strategy and ensure the RFP solution reflects and achieves the fundamental business strategy and objectives of the organization.

  • Work with marketing to develop the business case for specific features or service. This activity encompasses the profiling of target market segments, forecasting market size and growth, service definition and the creation of a pricing structure.
  • Assess customer’s core competencies set in the context of market opportunities and competitor’s strategies, understand corporate/marketing’s definition of market positioning strategy that is focused on solutions or portfolio of solutions.
  • Engage in marketing audits: A thorough audit of the market components, including product, price, promotion, place, process and people, in relation to customer’s business objectives to enable the customer to benchmark their internal procedures against best business practices and highlight areas of change and development.
  • Marketing communications and the psychology of the motivation to buy. Microsoft Office expert, Internet skills, LiveMeeting, and Acrobat knowledge.  Strong knowledge of writing, editing, printing, binding, graphics, and page layout.
  • Review and approve contractor deliverables prior to acceptance. 

Pricing Analysis

Provide business architecture costs for solution offers and set price.
